Cestus III is a Terran Federation colony world.

History[]

Following the discovery of the planet Deneva, the Terran Federation contracted Catherine Sakai to search for new worlds for colonization. In 2263, Sakai discovered a planet rich in biodiversity and resources. Known as Cestus III, the charter was won by a mixed group of Human, Waleth and Kazleti settlers, joined by a group of Hasik refugees.

On August 21st, 2265, the colony ship SS Aurora was launched from the Mojave Desert at the Ascension Complex. The ship arrived on December 10th, 2265, with the colonists leader Dorothy Griffin announcing the arrival of the colony. After landing, Griffin and the colonists set to work on developing the planet and turning it into a home for themselves. This was especially true for the Hasik refugees who were part of the group. In 2266, a group of Tzenkethi pirates attacked the planet as revenge for the Tzenkethi War. Known as the Cestus III Massacre, a colonist named James Travers organized a resistance to fight against the pirates. Eventually, the Tzenkethi Coalition captured and tried the pirates.

Following the Cestus III Massacre, the colonists continued with new spirits for the colonists. The Hasik refugees who settled on the planet were quick to identify plants which were edible and farm the soil. Within a few years, Cestus III became a prosperous Staple colony.

During the Gilded Age, the Sports Renaissance began on Cestus III with the founding of its own baseball, hockey, basketball, football and lacrosses as well as its own wrestling federation.
