Alpha Centauri IV (also known as Centauri IV) is a major Terran Federation colony world.
The world was colonized during the 22nd century, during the first wave of expansion following the colonizations of Tellus and Vesta. Serving as a resupply base, Centauri IV eventually grew into a prosperous colony world.
During the Lirin War, Alpha Centauri was the the site of a major battle in the last month of the war. During the ground battle, a retired admiral named Peter Borstein led a group of colonists into battle against the Lirin soldiers. This led to the retreat of Lirin forces from Terran Federation space.
